I’m sitting on the beach and life is good. The sky is a crystal clear blue. It’s about 80. People are fishing, and yes, they’re reelin’ em in. The sands are sugar white, the tropical sun is hot, and the cool gulf breeze feels great. It feels open and free. The pelicans are diving into the emerald green waters. It’s vast and beautiful. You can smell the salt in the breeze.
We enjoy life when we’re fully awake and working on our passion. We relish experiencing the process of the day. Engaging in life, be it contemplation or running a corporation. But we all get sucked into nonsense. Break free. Let it flow past you and observe.
What is your One main focus today? What One Thing engages your whole being? What makes your heart leap? What One Thing do you want to accomplish today? What makes you want to run around and scream, “Yes!”
That’s Leadership. That’s Vision. Focus Down, Laser Sharp…Engage. Just Do It.

We are creatures of habit. For good or ill, we all have habits we want to keep, and habits we want to change. Most self-help programs call for immediate action, while most therapists tend to use medications 1st, and then deep therapy. Both are valuable, and yet, in my experience, it is a perception shift or a Pattern Interrupt that has been the most helpful to me. It’s what shakes and wakes me.
We all run on auto-pilot. It’s how we make it through our day; the good, the bad and the ugly. But it’s not the things we love to do, that we want to change. It’s the things that we hate to do. It’s the things that are a waste of our time, and a waste of our life. But usually, it’s not until we have a systems break down, that we even think about changing.
At it’s best, Reading Blogs tends to be a Pattern Interrupt that stretches us to encompass more of what we enjoy and really want in life. Everything from feeding our joy, to solving our problems, to building a life, or building a business; all the while, developing a network of friends. It’s kinda cool.
In the 60’s we had the Whole Earth Catalog. We would feast our eyes on it, and stretch our dreams into action with its “tools for living.” Then came The Matrix and I can’t remember if I took the blue pill or the red pill. Anyway, Now we’ve got 2.0 and it’s an incredible time to be alive. Change is the constant.
So How Do We Do A Pattern Interrupt?
1. Set aside time. Plan but also be spontaneous. Both allow for our creativity to strike.
Take time to breathe, and enjoy being.
Smell the Roses. As a grower, I get such a charge out of working with plants.
Do Yoga, climb mountains, surf, walk, pray, meditate. It will stretch and expand your capacity to live and to give.
2. Read what inspires you and what motivates you to be the kind of person you want to be, and to live the kind of life you want to live.
3. Do what energizes you…What you love…What you’re passionate about. It doesn’t matter if its building a corporation, or running a home; raising a family or building a hobbit hole. It’s all good…It’s all yours…and It’s your gift, your purpose, your reason and rhyme.
Tell us what you think and would like to see. Thanks.

Do you do what you love , love what you do, and can you make a decent living at it? That’s quite the crux of it, isn’t it. Doing one thing, one thing really well, and the world will stand up and applaud.
Now go and look in the mirror. Ask your self, “What do I want to do everyday for the rest of my life? Make a list. Find your top 3, then choose the One, that you know in your gut, is meant for you. See yourself doing what you love and plan backwards just how, step by step, You’re gonna get there.
Begin to do what you love, and stop doing what you hate. This is a long term commitment to yourself. Bit by bit, inch by inch, thought by thought, action by action we build our platform for success.
If you are like me, You’ve got a million interests and you’re constantly getting ideas. But the fact of the matter is that, when we start out, we can only do One thing well. Divide and you will be conquered. Expansion comes after the proof of One.
So come on, stand up, dust yourself off, Take a deep breath, and see who you really are. You are created in the image and the likeness of God. So rise up to your giftings and callings. If you wake up to who you really are, doing what you love and what you are created for, will be like falling off a log. A sure thing. Tough? Yea. But you will be unstoppable.
